Let’s Work Together
|
Spark Chicago Therapy specializes in relationship and sex therapy. And since we offer comprehensive care, we’re also confident in treating anxiety, depression, grief, loss, life transitions, work stress, and life stress in general. We understand that every aspect of your life can deeply affect relationships and sex, so we are consistently tuned in to and curious about your life as a whole. Most issues can be addressed in either individual or couples therapy.
01. Individual Therapy
Whether you are partnered or single, individual therapy is an excellent option for exploring your personal goals for growth. Many of our individual clients come to us to work on anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, understanding and adjusting unhealthy relationship patterns, working through sexual functioning concerns, enhancing sexual pleasure or empowerment, and sexuality support through shame-reduction.

02. Sex Therapy
The goal of sex therapy is, well, to have more enjoyable sex! Our therapists understand the nuances that affect one’s sexual experience and functioning, and are aware that factors such as anxiety, stress, health and relational distress can play a major role in preventing pleasurable and exciting sex. We offer confidential, compassionate support in the warmth and privacy of our offices to help you feel comfortable in talking through some of the most intimate parts of your life.

03. Intensives
For some clients, weekly counseling sessions aren’t enough, required, or even desired. For this reason, we offer intensives, which can be tailored to your specific needs. This modality allows us to take a deep dive into your therapy goals during one more “intensive” experience. Our favorite, and most productive, way to structure this is scheduling a two-hour morning session, followed by lunch, then another two-hour session, for two consecutive days. Contact our Intake Coordinator for more information!
04. Relationship Therapy
You take your car in for a tune-up every now and then, so why wouldn’t you do the same for your relationship? At Spark Chicago Therapy, we offer guidance and support for couples wanting to co-create a vibrant, healthy relationship. We believe in highlighting your strengths individually and as a partnership, while working to adjust any negative or unhealthy patterns standing in the way of your desired marriage.

05. Marriage Preparation
We often get asked the question, “If we’re already seeking therapy before we even get married, shouldn’t we just break up?” We offer a resounding “NO!” as a response. We believe that seeking therapy at any point shows that you value your wellbeing, and that doing so before the wedding can set you up for a healthy, supportive, understanding, and engaged marriage.
Amy Moran, LCPC, CST, and Amy Stewart, LMFT, CST are both trained specifically in providing quality premarital counseling as a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator. They work with the Prepare/Enrich online assessment tool to help provide powerful insights about your relationship’s strengths and areas of needed growth, guided feedback, and integrated, custom exercises to further improve your partnership.

06. Teletherapy
We are committed to continuing to provide quality individual and couples counseling to our dedicated clients, as well as to those just starting their therapeutic journey. The move to telehealth sessions allows us to meet virtually (sweatpants encouraged!), just as we would in-person. We are currently only seeing clients virtually, but will continue to reevaluate our ability to see clients in the office once it is safe to do so. Your sessions will be conducted via our HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. Prior to each session, you'll receive a link to start the video session. All you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone and an internet connection!
We are in-network with BCBS PPO and accept all major credit cards. While most BCBS PPO plans are covering telehealth sessions similar to in-person sessions, we always suggest you call your insurance directly to inquire about your plan’s specific coverage for mental health services via telehealth. If you are interested in determining your benefits prior to your appointment, we encourage you to call the number on the back of your insurance card to inquire!
