Struggling with Pelvic Pain? You are NOT Alone!
By Amy Freier, LCPC, CST
As the facilitator of a women’s Pelvic Pain Support Group, I’ve learned a great deal about the emotional and physical pain women experience as a result of vaginismus, vulvodynia, endometriosis, pelvic congestion syndrome, and many other painful pelvic conditions. While each condition has its own specific etiology, pathology and treatment, one thing they all have in common is that anyone experiencing pelvic pain often feels alone, or that he/she is the only person dealing with this condition. Whatever your diagnosis, please know that you are not alone.
My absolute favorite feedback about the Pelvic Pain Support Group is hearing from members how comforted they feel sitting and talking with likeminded, empowered, wonderful women who are managing a very similar experience. They offer one another unique support, encouragement, and understanding in a way that your friends, families, and even doctors, can’t always offer.
Our group is always open to new members! Our aim is to explore pelvic pain holistically, incorporating support, education, and exciting guest speakers to help you better manage and reach your physical, emotional and sexual goals.
